DT | Revenues in Dagupan City will rise by 18% in 2022 | DAGUPAN CITY – The real revenue received by the local city government increased from PHP1.1 billion in 2021 to PHP1.35 billion in 2022, or approximately 18%.
Mayor Belen Fernandez said the growth may be credited to the efforts of the government staff, particularly at the one-stop business centre (OSBC), in his Pakabat ed Baley (State of the City Address) on Monday.
Masinop is the pamamahala of the OSBC’s kawani. (The employees at the OSBC are organised. Nangangahulugan din ito na bumabalik na at gumaganda na ang ekonomiya. This implies that the economy is also improving and rebounding,” the speaker added.
According to information provided by the City Information Office, market collection in 2022 was PHP69 million, compared to PHP213 million from company taxes and licences.
While the city’s portion of the national tax allocation totaled PHP861 million, the amount collected from the city’s public restrooms was PHP4.4 million.
Real property taxes have brought in PHP69 million, interest earnings PHP5.8 million, and garbage charge collections PHP11.8 million for the city.
Fernandez stated that by 2024, they hope to have the OSBC and other local government offices operating more efficiently.
She stated, “We are organising the systems for the further computerization of the OSBC processes so that it will be quick and effective. Isinasaayos na ang sistema sa pagpapalawig ng computerization ng ating mga proseso sa OSBC upang maging mas mabilis at maingat ang proseso.”
In 2024, the local administration, according to her, will allocate funds for the community-based monitoring system and digitization.
She has not yet provided a confirmation of the program’s financing level.
On the other hand, the city spent PHP951 million annually in 2022.
The programmes that received funding were employee overtime compensation, which totaled PHP6 million; youth and sports expenses, PHP4.6 million; scholarship grants, PHP104.6 million; and funds for children, PHP389 million.
The dredging of the city’s river systems, which is a chronic issue here, is one of the local government’s major priorities for this year, according to Fernandez.
In addition to other projects, infrastructure projects for towns and schools have also been planned. (via PNA)
