DT | Residents of Laoag can sign up online for the PH service fair caravan | LAOAG CITY – Online lines for the forthcoming Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair caravan, which will be held at the Mariano Marcos State University, Laoag campus from September 23 to 24, have already started to form among locals in this town and adjacent towns in the province of Ilocos Norte.

In an interview conducted on Thursday, 43-year-old Nelda Quinay, a resident of Barangay 5 in San Pedro in this city, stated that her electronic identification card had already been protected to ensure her participation in the two-day event.

Quinay stated that she registered online as soon as she learnt about the event through social media in order to take advantage of the upcoming government services.

The mother of two claimed that she had been eager to apply for government scholarships for her children as well as financial assistance for starting new businesses.

The Food and Drug Administration, Philippine Coconut Authority, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, Philippine National Police, Land Transportation Office, Philippine Statistics Authority, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Bureau of Investigation, PhilHealth, PAG-IBIG, Social Security, and other participating agencies’ social services and regulatory functions will also be provided.

The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair caravan, a centrepiece initiative of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., will be transported to Laoag for the first time in order to make various government services more accessible to the general population.

In the province of Ilocos Norte, where government employees reach out to underserved towns, the caravan is a wider and larger version of the so-called Capitol Express.

According to Ryan Remigio, head of the office of Rep. Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, who is leading the preparations for the event, more than 60 programmes and services will be brought closer to the people this weekend through the caravan, which will be participated in by 40 government agencies.

This will be introduced at the same time in this city, Nabua, Camarines Sur, and the Leyte municipality of Tolosa.

“I’m looking forward to the Serbisyo Fair. Ronald Domingo, a resident of Batac City, expressed his optimism that this would be the beginning of many additional services that were within our means.

Domingo added that he also looks forward to the raffle draw at the event location, where winners will receive 30 power banks, 20 telephones, 20 tablets, 5 laptops, and 1 NMAX motorcycle.

Residents of Ilocos are recommended to register online through the BPSF online portal at www.bagongpilipinastayo.com in order to prevent crowding at the event venue. The registration process can be completed on-site if done online.

To ensure the event ran smoothly, all involved government departments attended the final coordination meeting on Thursday at Centennial Arena. (via PNA)
